DMEXCO is Europe’s leading trade show for digital marketing & tech and has been an annual event in Cologne since 2009. It aims to build a wide-reaching and ever-expanding network that brings together experts and innovation drivers. In this sense, DMEXCO sets the benchmark for the digital economy and is first off the mark when it comes to bringing key decisions and future trends to life.
With today’s market evolving so dynamically, brands need the support of a strong community in order to successfully master the digital transformation. In view of this climate, the influencers of tomorrow can no longer shy away from collaborating with one another. And that’s why DMEXCO has made it its mission to create the world’s leading ecosystem for digital marketing. This “digiconomy” is intended to facilitate networking, interaction, and business among its members and in turn drive the growth of the digital economy – both nationally and internationally.
DMEXCO is organized by Koelnmesse, with the German Association for the Digital Economy [Bundesverband Digitale Wirtschaft (BVDW) e.V.] acting as the ideational and professional partner together with the special participation of the Circle of Online Marketers (OVK).
DMEXCO – Expo & Conference
DMEXCO merges two concepts together: an expo and a conference. This makes it the ideal setting not just for international speakers to share their industry insights, but also for companies wanting to showcase themselves. Screenforce, Twitch, and WeWork are some of the top brands that have been involved so far. DMEXCO covers every imaginable aspect of the digital industry – whether online marketing, performance marketing, or online game advertising, the list is endless. In 2019 alone, it attracted some 40,000 visitors to Cologne.
DMEXCO 2020 – the digital-only event
2020: a challenging year for everyone, DMEXCO included. The coronavirus pandemic and social distancing restrictions meant that the physical part of the event had to be cancelled, so it was instead held purely digitally for the first time ever under the “Attitude matters” motto. What started out as a mammoth challenge turned out to be a valuable foundation for DMEXCO to reach even more innovation drivers of the digital economy and step up its international presence in the future. Without a doubt, DMEXCO20 has established the technical framework to pull off the event in a hybrid version in the years to come.
