“The personalization study carried out by the BVDW in collaboration with Kantar Media shows that personalization is an everyday reality in the digital world. It increases relevance and convenience. Today, people expect personalized services – and, in return, they are open with their data. These expectations will only grow stronger as artificial intelligence is more widely used. That’s why there needs to be scope for personalized offers and services. While the findings put wind in the sails of the digital economy, they pose a challenge for policymakers. Rather than seeking to introduce regulations that are out of touch with the reality of people’s lives, they must establish frameworks that are geared toward opportunities.”
