Even though the current volatile situation may still put pressure on spending, media agencies are seeing the most dynamic growth in the digital advertising market. The media experts surveyed by DMEXCO attest to the category’s “growth” and “great potential,” saying it offers “great opportunities for retailers” and looks forward to a “bright future.”
This year, digital creativity has become an integral part of our living and working environment: in just the past few weeks, over one billion people have read texts and viewed images that have been created using artificial intelligence programs. Until now, they only analyzed existing data statistically, while these new programs are now implicitly creative and generate impressive results – something that, without human input, hardly seemed possible before: stories, descriptions, images, movies, physical products – and that’s just the start. On September 20 and 21 in Cologne, under the motto “Empowering Digital Creativity”, DMEXCO will discuss just what impact digital creativity has on the digital economy, which is also creative.
Artificial intelligence (AI) will mainly be used by communicators in the future to handle routine tasks and help reduce costs. Around one in ten of those surveyed in the areas of marketing, communication, and media may already be testing AI in terms of content production and search engine optimization, but most communicators are still cautious or even skeptical about actually using AI in their companies. Those are the initial results of a representative online survey conducted by Civey on behalf of DMEXCO from January 26 to February 20, 2023.
58% of the marketers surveyed are clear on one thing: the consumption of energy and resources by advertising is becoming increasingly important in 2023. However, just 38% of companies will pay greater attention to the CO2 emissions of different marketing measures when planning future budgets. On the other hand, the answer to the question of who should bear the costs of climate-neutral campaigns is unanimous: the advertisers. These are the initial findings from a representative online survey conducted by Civey on behalf of DMEXCO in December 2022, which involved 501 employees in the communication, PR, media, and marketing sectors.

The world of work is being recharged: a new, representative online survey conducted by Civey on behalf of DMEXCO, Europe’s leading digital marketing and tech event, found that 61 percent of companies from a wide range of industries now offer the option to work from home or remotely. A fifth of the approximately 1,000 HR managers surveyed said that their company even allows a four-day week.
