The DMEXCO trend survey at the start of 2022 showed that the shortage of skilled professionals is currently the hot topic in the communications industry. A new, representative online survey conducted by Civey on behalf of DMEXCO has now confirmed that there are currently job vacancies in almost half the companies of the marketers and communications experts surveyed. It is taking many companies five months or more to fill positions, and job ads are still frequently being used for recruitment.
Mottos from previous years have included #AttitudeMatters and #SettingNewPriorities, but this year DMEXCO is taking things a step further. The company is inviting its community to come together on September 21 and 22, 2022, under the motto #WeProgressTogether with the goal of not only discussing progress in theory, but also how to translate it into real life and help it to continue evolving. What will progress look like after the pandemic? How can we shape it to deliver positive and profitable results? What role can and must the digital industry play in society to make this happen, and how will this impact how we interact? These are just some of the topics that will be discussed by the more than 500 international top speakers at the exhibition center in Cologne.
To complement its year-round platform, DMEXCO – Europe’s leading digital marketing & tech event – will be getting the show on the road for the digital economy when it hosts the “DMEXCO Digital Spring Summit” for the very first time on May 3, 2022. The all-day event, which will shine a light on the hot topic “Web3” and others, is free for members of the DMEXCO community.
Diversity, sustainability, and data strategy: these topics dominate the public debate on digital marketing. But in practice, one particular issue concerns marketers and communications experts for 2022: the shortage of skilled professionals. This finding has emerged from a representative online survey conducted by Civey on behalf of DMEXCO. Next, in second to fourth place, are finding new revenue streams, New Work, and logistics problems.
