As the new Director of Sales & Operations with effect from February, Jan Garnefeld, 40, will be responsible for the analog and digital trade show business of DMEXCO, Europe’s leading digital marketing and tech event. He will be taking over from Dr. Christoph Menke-Salz, who started a new position as Sports Director of the German Hockey Federation in January 2021.
The date for DMEXCO 2021 has changed: It will take place next year on September 7 and 8 in Cologne. The event was originally planned for September 22 and 23, 2021. The reason for the date shift: due to the coronavirus pandemic new date options in the Koelnmesse trade fair calendar became available for the event.
Most marketers prefer advertisers to spend their money on media and platforms that act in the interests of society. Communications experts are against the censorship of fake news, but if lies on platforms and social networks can be verified as being untrue, they want them to be identified as such. Those are two of the findings from a representative online survey commissioned by DMEXCO and conducted by Civey among 500 communication, marketing, and PR specialists in November 2020.
Over 20,000 participants, more than 800 speakers, 260 partners, and a conference agenda spanning over 160 hours. This year’s DMEXCO @home, which is taking place on September 23 and 24 for the first time in a purely digital version, will end with record attendance and a finale concert by Mousse T. DMEXCO will be held next year on September 22 and 23, 2021.
Digital channels will once again receive a greater share in the media mix of German companies in 2021. Search engines, social networking sites, and audio/video platforms will be the biggest winners here. In contrast, the advertising budgets for print and outdoor advertising are set to fall further. According to the predictions of over 500 surveyed decision-makers, spending for advertising overall will decline slightly in 2021. Those are the main findings from a representative online survey commissioned by DMEXCO and conducted by Civey among specialists in the fields of communication, marketing, and advertising in Germany.
Only five days to go until the big event: on September 23 and 24, DMEXCO @home will be taking place – in a purely digital version for the first time. Participants can look forward to almost 700 top speakers, presentations, masterclasses, and lots of entertainment over the two days: the biggest line-up in DMEXCO’s history. In addition to a club session with Mousse T., there will be workouts with popular influencers.
