DMEXCO @home launches a new digital platform
DMEXCO @home 2021 is due to start in three weeks. The new digital platform can be accessed at https://community.dmexco.com starting now. Exhibitors and participants can already use their ticket to register online and utilize some of the features of DMEXCO @home in advance, for example to schedule meetings, interact with each other, get an exclusive look at the program, and put together their own personal agenda. Among the more than 400 speakers are top international executives from Dentsu, Dropbox, Facebook, Google, IBM, Oracle and others. The conference will then take place from 10 am to 6 pm on September 7 and 8 on four virtual stages and in seven masterclass streams.

This year, it will again include numerous panels and discussions with international top speakers. On September 7 and 8, 2021, participants can expect four stages featuring keynotes, fireside chats, and panels, as well as six streams with more than 120 masterclasses.
DMEXCO survey 2021: The majority of German companies are not ready for the post-cookie era
Only 17 percent of German marketers already have a solution for the post-cookie era – that’s the finding from a recent survey conducted within the DMEXCO community. International companies are much more prepared: just under 40 percent of those surveyed already have a solution for when cookies are phased out.
DMEXCO survey: Sustainability and new work have become an accepted part of the digital industry
Sustainability may already be high on the priority list for digital companies, but members of the DMEXCO community also agree that it needs to be taken even more seriously in the future. New working models are being used throughout the digital industry, and the vast majority of respondents are already working remotely. In addition, different companies have different interpretations of the issue of diversity. All this and more is clear from the initial results of a survey conducted in the DMEXCO community in June 2021.
DMEXCO 2021 will be all-digital
Although the Koelnmesse fall program is scheduled to go ahead on site in the Cologne exhibition halls, DMEXCO 2021 will be held in an all-digital format on September 7 and 8 in the form of DMEXCO @home, just like last year. The reason for this is because many international companies in the industry have to comply with pandemic restrictions that will likely be in place until the end of 2021. A hybrid DMEXCO event will be held in Cologne in 2022.
Setting new priorities: the motto of DMEXCO 2021
What will the world look like after Covid? How can we actively help shape it? What role does digitalization play in this? What priorities do we want and need to define for the future? With the #SettingNewPriorities motto, DMEXCO 2021 aims to discuss all these questions with its community and come up with real solutions for a post-Covid world.
DMEXCO meets Digital X on September 7 and 8, 2021, in Cologne
DMEXCO, Europe’s leading digital marketing & tech event, and Digital X, Europe’s leading digitalization initiative launched by Deutsche Telekom, will share the stage for the first time in 2021 at the Koelnmesse exhibition center. Digital X explores issues surrounding the digital transformation, while DMEXCO’s main focus is on digital marketing. In this respect, digital topics and relevant target groups will be closely merged and September will see Cologne becoming more of a hotspot for everything digital than ever before. More details on the exact setup of the two events will be released in June.
2021 advertising spending: social media, search engines, and audio and video platforms keep on growing
The advertising spending of marketers is continuing to become increasingly digital and is shifting toward the big platforms – those were the findings of a survey DMEXCO conducted among its community. Budgets are mainly being set aside for search engines, social media channels, editorial content websites, and audio and video platforms. Surprisingly, traditional channels such as TV and radio are also still proving popular.
Jan Garnefeld appointed as new Director of Sales & Operations at DMEXCO
As the new Director of Sales & Operations with effect from February, Jan Garnefeld, 40, will be responsible for the analog and digital trade show business of DMEXCO, Europe’s leading digital marketing and tech event. He will be taking over from Dr. Christoph Menke-Salz, who started a new position as Sports Director of the German Hockey Federation in January 2021.
DMEXCO 2021 will take place on September 7 and 8
The date for DMEXCO 2021 has changed: It will take place next year on September 7 and 8 in Cologne. The event was originally planned for September 22 and 23, 2021. The reason for the date shift: due to the coronavirus pandemic new date options in the Koelnmesse trade fair calendar became available for the event.
