A look at the technological future: the DMEXCO AdTech Summit

The AdTech Summit set important priorities on the Tech Stage from day one. Its numerous sessions covered a whole host of adtech topics. Here are just some of the highlights.

Keynote: “The Path Forward: Accelerating Towards the Next Era of Online Privacy”

This keynote focused on a future without third-party cookies. Google’s Privacy Sandbox, with a preview of upcoming innovations, was showcased by Alex Cone (Google), Thao Tran (Google), and Hanne Tuomisto-Inch (Google). Industry leaders – namely, Jana Eisenstein from Seedtag and Richard Mooney from GroupM – also shared intriguing insights.

Fireside chat: “In-Game Advertising: A Privacy First Approach To Engaging Audiences”

In this fireside chat, adtech CEOs Kristan Rivers (AdInMo) and Abhishek Sen (NumberEight) spoke about why a privacy first approach is essential to the success of their businesses. Lecture: “GenAI: Adtech’s Evolution, Not Revolution – A Closer Look Beyond the Hype”

In his lecture, Thomas Park (Adform) puts the hype behind AI into perspective. He points out that the advertising industry is already highly automated and there is widespread use of machine learning in many processes. Check out the SVP’s deep dive into the topic via the DMEXCO VOD library.

Dive into the immersive Tech Summit

Any consideration of technology at DMEXCO in 2024 obviously had to include the topic of immersive experience. The DMEXCO Immersive Tech Summit therefore offered trade visitors various sessions, such as the “Immersive Tech in Marketing: Making the Impossible Possible” panel.

Giuseppe Fiordispina (CUPRA/SEAT Germany), Kira Grabner (Meta), Camillo Stark (MSM.digital AR/VR Labs GmbH), and Maren Courage (VR Business Club) discussed a range of topics there, including the potential of immersive technologies, and shared their experience of how brands are already regularly using AR and VR applications in a sales context to boost their success.

Panel: “Community Engagement In Our New Web”

The topic of Web3 was also one of the technology trends that made DMEXCO 2024 the tech event you’ve come to expect from DMEXCO. The panel made up of Sven Haiges (SAP), Viet Nguyen (Celestia Labs), Helena Vossen (Chain4Travel), and Vicktoria Klich (w3.fund & w3.vision) examined how the decentralized internet is changing communities.
