Short spurt on the way to #DMEXCO18

Before Cologne trade fair opens its doors for the Expo and Conference in a few days’ time, we are stepping on the gas once again!

Short spurt on the way to #DMEXCO18

It was less than three months ago that we launched a completely revamped website. We have since published around 100 stories and more than 230 media assets. The podcast has also gone live, with its first three episodes, and the Conference program and exhibitor database have been integrated into dmexco.com. Numerous search and filter features make it easier for you to navigate the website based on your main interests. For example, you can search the Conference program by track, topic, stage, time or language. Filter the exhibitor search by category, topic, hall and format.

We have created the opportunity for exhibitors and partners to contribute their own suggestions for topics. So far, we have received 57 suggestions. We also have 39 events for the event calendar, ranging from stand parties and get-togethers to 34 national and international media partnerships, which we have underpinned with content. 63 newsletters and e-mails as well as a Social Media team that processes requests and its own content in more than 700 Tweets, Facebook and Instagram posts with quick response times (53 minutes on Facebook). Good job, Djure and Romy!

And our efforts are being rewarded. The number of visits to our website have doubled month after month. The average visit duration is 5:05 minutes. At over 50 percent, the amount of returning visitors far exceeds our expectations. Interactions and followers on social media have also increased significantly. Since May, both rates have risen by an average of more than 150 percent each month. In short: we have visibly lived up to our commitment towards better guidance, better networking and more dialog, which we defined a few months ago, in our own channels.

This growth and consistency reassure and motivate us to step up the pace again in the days leading up to the event. Our pool of topics is filled to the brim: so we can publish an average of two stories a day in our short spurt and the weeks following this. 19 free download formats such as e-books, guidelines, checklists, infographics and charts will soon be added to provide further depth. We are starting directly with ten different formats and two more formats will follow per week. The same applies to the planning of the podcast. 18 more guests have been secured, 4 of whom have already been interviewed in new episodes and are ready for publication. By the way: you can follow the production of the podcast live at the Expo stand of our partner RMS at DMEXCO 2018.

While we’re on the topic of DMEXCO 2018: we’re working at full speed on the last-minute completion of the app. The good news: there is an app. The better news: it will – this much can be revealed – only meet our own requirements in terms of structure and features in 2019. The entire Conference program can also be printed in a handy analog format. And even Alexa will come up with her own DMEXCO skill, which can then be tested at DMEXCO. Details to follow.

As we have said: for us this is a short spurt and not the final spurt, because we will carry on our work on September 14. The new DMEXCO concept enables a constant dialog with exhibitors, visitors and interested parties – 365 days a year. But the real highlights are still the Expo and Conference in Cologne. With this in mind: we are looking forward to meeting you on September 12 and 13.

Full speed ahead!
