Ready for DMEXCO 2018: Report from the day before
The day before DMEXCO 2018 is all about fine-tuning and finishing. An overview and status report.
The preparations for the Expo and Conference are largely complete. The final touches are being made and materials laid out at the exhibitor stands. Also in the lounges and “worlds” – Agency Lounge and World of Agencies, World of Experience (including VR Lounge) and Start-up Village – the details are still being created everywhere. And the stages are already breathing the scent of insights and knowledge that will be shared and discussed starting tomorrow.
Positive picture of opinion and mood
The atmosphere is electric. An extremely positive mood could already be measured and recognized on the home stretch to DMEXCO 2018. There was a lot of social media buzz with contributions on all known platforms and channels. Filled with anticipation, expectation and pleasant prospects, as the extensive analysis of the last 30 days by DMEXCO monitoring partner and exhibitor Linkfluence showed.
Further findings of the analysis: English is an equally important language and underlines the international significance of DMEXCO. But the gender distribution by author is clearly behind the very balanced one on our Conference Stages.
The most used platform is Twitter (77.5%), followed by Facebook (5.7%) and Instagram (4.2%). The picture of the influencers who are posting #DMEXCO18 on these platforms is also exciting: the top corporate accounts are Hootsuite, Adobe Experience Cloud, HubSpot, Teads and Magento. Top media internationally are The Drum and NBC, nationally W&V, WirtschaftsWoche and t3n Magazin.
A parallel analysis compiled by DMEXCO exhibitor Brandwatch showed that the topic of artificial intelligence created the most buzz on social media and in forums, blogs and news sites. This is followed by the topics e-commerce and customer experience. The focal points of the digital agenda are therefore clear, and will be defined and discussed from tomorrow.
Getting in the mood in pre-events
The day before DMEXCO traditionally focuses on pre-events, which are currently underway or have already been successfully completed in some cases: at OroVibe, online retailers, solution agencies and technology providers met to share views on B2B e-commerce, as well as experiences and insights on the hot topics of digital transformation. At the same time, the Online Ad Summit of the German Association for the Digital Economy (BVDW) took place, and took a look at the challenges facing the digital industry “between adblocking and data protection”.
The Mayor of Cologne Henriette Reker is inviting guests to an international reception in the historic town hall. All participants of the DMEXCO Start-up Village and representatives of the Cologne start-up ecosystem are invited.
Several exclusive meetings have taken and are still taking place for notable participants of the Expo and Conference. For example, selected thought leaders in VIP networking tackled the topic of Advertising Tech Trends 2019. This is now being followed by the VIP Opening Party at the “Flora” venue. The Metapeople Performance Night is taking place virtually at the same time in Wolkenburg, the location of the official DMEXCO Party tomorrow. Then the pop and power motto will be “DMEXCO meets I LOVE ENGTANZ”. Earlier in the day, C-level decision-makers had already met for the OVK Executive Dinner, while other invited guests received exclusive Amazon Insights.
Tomorrow morning at 9.00 am Europe’s leading event opens its doors to over 40,000 trade visitors from the digital business – and for two days of networking and dialog, further training and inspiration. Let the gains begin.
