DMEXCO @home rethinks digital events in line with the successful DMEXCO concept. In addition to live conference streams (from Cologne and the whole world), interactive master classes and deep dives, the digital platform will be all about interacting and sharing ideas and experiences. A new form of networking: everyone participating will be able to communicate directly with one another in audio/video rooms or via text chat, exchange contact information, or arrange meetings. “Virtual Café” spaces will feature rooms organized by topic or target group in which exhibitors can hold their roadshows or talk with customers privately, for example.
In DMEXCO @home, exhibitors will present their companies to visitors in their own brand showrooms on the interactive “brand showfloor”. There, they will not only be able to showcase their company and products in detail but will especially have the opportunity to do business with customers. Interested parties and prospective customers will have the chance to get advice and talk directly with the showroom visitors. Entertainment hasn’t been forgotten about on the new platform either: virtual experiences and a few surprises for visitors are in planning.
New hall plan for increased safety
The hall plan for the on-site version of DMEXCO at Koelnmesse has been adapted to meet official hygiene guidelines and distancing rules. This year, three halls will offer space for different formats: expo, conference, and networking. Personal interaction will be the trade show’s focus despite the coronavirus. Along with having exhibitor booths, hall 7 will therefore also serve as a networking hall with dining options and a “Lead Café” that will function as a meeting and networking space. Hall 8 has also been designed entirely with exhibitors in mind. In this hall, exhibitors will be able to quickly and easily book a functional and fully fledged trade show presence in the “expo village”. For meetings, the Lead Café will only be a few steps away from this. During the planning process, particular attention was paid to optimized visitor admission control, defined routes, and sufficient disinfection supplies and procedures.
New conference concept with four studios
Hall 6 will be the conference center this year, and a number of changes have been implemented in this regard. Four studios will be set up on-site, clustered according to the following topic areas: future, business, technology, and marketing & media. As usual, hosts will moderate the high-profile conference program throughout the day.
Speakers from all over the world will be able to talk either live in person, join in digitally, or if needed, can be included as a recording. The entire DMEXCO community – whether in Cologne or in front of a screen – will thus be able to watch the speakers’ presentations, discussions, and panels. Sessions will be available afterwards via video on demand.
Tickets cost €99 and will be on sale online starting in the middle of July
A ticket for DMEXCO 2020 will cost 99 euros and will be valid for both the on-site event and the digital version, DMEXCO @home. The online ticket shop is scheduled to open in the middle of July 2020.
“This year, we will be holding not one, but two events: a physical and digital DMEXCO. Both formats are intended to complement one another. DMEXCO @home will offer more than just streaming of content and webinars. Especially for our international community, it will enable focused networking, intensive dialogue, and a vast audience for new products and solutions. In contrast, the physical DMEXCO will provide numerous networking formats in a personal atmosphere. Both worlds have their own benefits. We believe that DMEXCO can offer a ray of hope for the business world and the digital industry, particularly in such difficult times. Together with our visitors and exhibitors, we can show that our industry is bouncing back,” says Dr. Dominik Matyka, Chief Advisor of DMEXCO.
“We hope to make it as easy as possible for our visitors and exhibitors to restart together. We have therefore developed standardized booth and meeting concepts for this year’s event and will ensure the highest safety and hygiene standards on-site, while making people’s time at Koelnmesse enjoyable at the same time, of course. Our approach has been very well received by the market. The desire to meet in person again can really be felt and many exhibitors are already looking forward to DMEXCO 2020,” adds Christoph Menke, Director Sales and Operations at DMEXCO.
