dmexco: Take C.A.R.E. is the motto for 2018

Stay curious, act consciously, take responsibility and create special experiences. This message is behind the motto “Take C.A.R.E.” (Curiosity–Action–Responsibility–Experience), which dmexco (September 12 & 13) has chosen for 2018. With this, the central meeting place of the digital economy is supporting its visitors and the industry in positively shaping change and driving it forward actively and responsibly. In addition, dmexco will provide better guidance, stronger connections and more dialog – throughout the whole year.

The digital industry is currently under new public pressure in many areas to act more transparently and responsibly and to define values in its economic activities. Take C.A.R.E., this year’s dmexco motto, is therefore aimed at bridging the gap between the dynamism and innovative strength of the digital economy and the more conscious, more responsible handling of many aspects of digitalization.

dmexco itself is also taking the motto Take C.A.R.E. literally: to further improve the quality and relevance of contacts between exhibitors and visitors, the dmexco organizers are focusing on three central topics: better orientation, stronger connections and more engagement.

  1. Better orientation

Visitors and exhibitors will find it easier to find their way around the exhibition center on September 12 & 13 in Cologne. As part of an exclusive partnership between Koelnmesse and Samsung SDS, for example, the entire exhibition center will be fitted with digital signage solutions. So visitors and exhibitors can reach their destination in the six dmexco halls more quickly. From June, a new website will also provide better content guidance for dmexco’s extensive conference and trade fair program.

  1. Stronger connections

At dmexco 2018, visitors’ interests and requirements will be better connected to the conference program: dmexco is launching a new CRM and data-supported content marketing strategy. A new theme framework with the five main areas of marketing, media, technology, business and future links exhibitors, the conference program and visitors’ interests in terms of content.

  1. More engagement

dmexco will offer its community more dialog and commitment in the future, both online and offline – 365 days a year. Online, this is to be achieved through a new content marketing strategy. Offline, an extensive calendar of events with relevant events from exhibitors and partners aims to promote direct dialog. In addition, various dmexco events will accompany the community throughout the year.

“Our vision for dmexco is an ecosystem that communicates with visitors and exhibitors all year round: with relevant content, personalized offers and individual events that we establish with partners. We are evolving from a 2-day show into a cross-platform media company connecting our community offline in Cologne as well as 24/7 online. We will successively underpin this vision with content and concrete actions in the coming months,” announced Dr. Dominik Matyka, dmexco Chief Advisor. To this end, dmexco is investing in additional staff, IT and tools and above all in relevant content.

“Thanks to the exclusive partnership with Samsung SDS, we can use digital signage solutions such as digital posters, signs and monitors in a concerted way. This allows us to provide visitors and exhibitors with targeted and interactive information. We are proud to be the first exhibition center in Germany to offer this special service in this dimension,” says Christoph Werner, Senior Vice President Koelnmesse and member of the dmexco Board.

“In terms of the realignment and vision of dmexco, the German Association for the Digital Economy (BVDW) is giving the new management team the maximum amount of freedom and unrestricted support. We know and trust that the dmexco Board will use its expertise for the conceptual implementation to expand dmexco as the internationally leading ecosystem for digital marketing and digital transformation and at the same time to raise dmexco’s appeal in the national environment,” says BVDW President Matthias Wahl.
