DMEXCO announces first speakers and introduces new formats

Julia Jäkel (Gruner+Jahr), Sabina Jeschke (Deutsche Bahn) and Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer (CDU) from Germany as well as an impressive line-up of international top speakers: This are the first of over 550 DMEXCO 2019 speakers which promises an inspiring programme. A total of 9 stages, 150+ seminars and worklabs, a new demo arena and a World of Agencies which gets expanded to over 2,500 square metres await visitors to Cologne on the 11th and 12th of September.

Kai Diekmann and Sir Martin Sorrell will discuss the crisis of classic agency models and possible solutions. The new CDU Chairwoman Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer will give a keynote lecture on “Trust in the Digital Age” and the social consequences of digitisation. Professor Sabina Jeschke from Deutsche Bahn will give insights into how high performance computing can herald a new era of mobility. Julia Jäkel (Gruner+Jahr) and Anja Hendel (Porsche Digital Lab) will bring women’s power to the stage. In addition, there will be international top speakers such as Teresa Barreira (Publicis Sapient), Harley Finkelstein (shopify), Dhruv Ghulati (Factmata), Walter Jacobs (Twitch), Dave King (Asana), Howard Lerman (Yext), Ryan Leslie (Superphone), Stephen Mai (Boiler Room) and Sonia Studer (Nestlé). The first of more than 550 speakers stand for a diversified and extraordinary conference programme at DMEXCO 2019.

Female Empowerment: High proportion of women on curated stages

The proportion of strong women on DMEXCO’s curated stages will continue to rise this year. After 30 percent in 2017 and 33 percent in 2018, the proportion of female speakers on DMEXCO’s curated stages will be at least 37 percent in 2019. Judith Kühn, Director Conference DMEXCO: “The digital transformation is significantly changing our working environment and the current Zeitgeist demands solutions for the still existing gender gap. DMEXCO will make its contribution by offering women not only a stage, but also a variety of extraordinary networking possibilities”. For example, the WOW dinner on the eve of DMEXCO will bring together around 150 female decision-makers from the marketing and tech industries. Furthermore, The Female Quotient, the international women’s network for equal opportunities in business, will be part of the programme once again.

Demo Arena replaces Speakers’ Forum

The Speakers’ Forum, which was previously located between the halls, will be replaced by the Demo Arena in 2019. It is centrally located in Hall 6 and will offer space for more than 150 spectators: The brand new DMEXCO format for the perfect product pitch. In the Demo Arena, new digital products or service ideas will be presented in 20-minute slots. An interactive voting tool guarantees direct feedback from the audience. The Call for Papers has already started and applies exclusively to exhibitors and co-exhibitors of DMEXCO. Closing date will be the 31st of May 2019.

World of Agencies with a new concept

In the World of Agencies (located in Hall 6 of Koelnmesse) a new, exclusive area for agencies will be created by integrating the previously separate agency lounges. In the midst of futuristic and open design, agencies, customers and interested parties can present themselves perfectly. The integrated 270-degree stage in the World of Agencies, which will be moderated on both days, offers an exciting mix of best cases, panels and key notes on strategic topics and case studies in the midst of the agency landscape. An exclusive lounge area also offers space for undisturbed personal conversations.
